Samantha Oehley is a 20 year old undergraduate at the Wanganui School of Design in New Zealand. Her interests include the 1960s and 1910s, the Beatles, politics, reading, music and drawing. She has a thing for Priests and Authority figures, and has the habit of always exaggerating things to a more dramatic scale

Project: emulate a photographer of your choice.
I chose to emulate Cindy Sherman, famous for her controversial yet moving series of self portraits that reflect society and ways of life. Like Sherman, I've used myself in every photo and have attempted to capture the emotions of a single moment. The difference? Sherman captured different personalities and types of people, I captured different personalities within myself.

Project: experiment with lighting.
I have selected to combine a few of my favourite shots for this portfolio. I looked into the idea of how a single portrait can emit so many emotions and combined this with the experiment of colour and light vs dark.
